Honesty…

003

I wonder who doesn’t appreciate honesty? Who wouldn’t like to be taken for their words or take others for what they say?

Well, I remember growing up and loving to speak my mind in all honesty and yes to own up to my mistakes. However, with teenage, came dishonesty.

That’s where the above picture of mine fits into this post. It isn’t because I want you to know that I took oath as a Lawyer, oh no, it is because that day coincides with the period when I finally decided that henceforth, no more dishonesty.

I said to myself, you won’t be dishonest with yourself, your family and the entire world. You would live your life to the best of your understanding, possibilities and belief.

I realized all my years of dishonesty had hurt me most and driven me to the meanest of actions either in consolation of my parallel lives or to keep my illusions a float.

I soon after taking that oath, and the personal oath in me, wrote lengthy letters to my Ex Husband, and my parents trying to make them understand that I was leaving my marriage and them all because of my dishonesty.

Well, my featured publication tells more of my tale. All I can say for now is, since I resolved to live an honest and yes ‘open’ as a ‘book’ life, I am at peace with my self and happy with my life. You are all invited to the two events on g+ and facebook for the launch on the 1st of March 2014.

Dear gentle followers of mine, what is your take on this delicate concept and virtue?

Marie Angele Abanga (simplified to Marie Abanga) aka MAG likes to describe herself as a “Jacqueline of several trades”. She is an everyday woman and mother with a zigzag profile. Let’s give it a try! She is an Activist, an Author, a Coach, a Consultant, a Feminist, a Lawyer, a Lecturer, a Prince 2 Project Manager, a Psychotherapist, a Philanthropist, a minister of the Word of God and...! She just loves to sum it up by saying she is a person of passions and a tale of talents. Her life’s journey has filled over 6 books already and her three musketeers keep her busy at home. MAG is also the founder and CEO of the association Hope for the Abused and Battered, and the Country Director of the Gabriel Bebonbechem Foundation for Epilepsy & Mental wellbeing. The plethora of life's experiences and shenanigans she has lived through and learned from in near 4 decades of existence, have equipped her with such an arsenal to coach, train and motivate just any and everyone. She is so charismatic, dynamic and full of life, going by her designed mantra of 3Ds: Determination; Discipline and Dedication. These sum her+her quest to be the best version of herself and impact others perfectly. She attributes all her wealth of knowledge to her conscientious attendance of both informal and formal school.

  1. Dear Marie,

I like the way you’ve bared your soul. It’s an invitation for others to do the same. Honesty is hard for most of us, whereas being dishonest is much easier.

Doing the wrong thing always seem easier than doing the right thing. But there is reward for doing the right thing. That reward is peace.

When I was in my teens and early 20s I had a problem with being honest. But as I got older and developed my relationship with Jesus I realised that it’s best to be honest. In fact, it’s the only way.

Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day. 🙂

  2. Marie as I thought earlier, totally refreshing to see your openness and brutal honesty which you tease us with the promise of more in your book. Thank you for encouraging us to strive for peace that comes from vulnerability and honesty
